Bon Jovi’s 1988 album “New Jersey” produced five Top 10 songs — and it also showed that they were here to stay.
The band is marking its 30th anniversary this year and will reissue “New Jersey” with all the bells and whistles. There will be a “New Jersey” remastered CD and digital edition; a two CD and digital deluxe edition, and a two CD and one DVD super deluxe edition released on Tuesday, July 1.
In ‘88, the original intent was to release the work as a double album called “Sons of Beaches.” The concept was nixed in favor of a 12-song album, retitled “New Jersey,” according to a recent Bon Jovi press release. The deluxe and the super deluxe editions will include the “Sons of Beaches” material.
The DVD part of the super deluxe editions will be the documentary “Access All Areas: A Rock & Roll Odyssey,” which details the “New Jersey” tour, including the Lenin Stadium concert in Moscow and the Giants Stadium homecoming in East Rutherford.
“New Jersey’s” hits include “Bad Medicine,” “Born To Be My Baby,” “I’ll Be There For You,” “Living In Sin,” and “Lay Your Hands On Me.”
